Percussionist

James Yoshizawa is a versatile drummer, percussionist and educator living in Los Angeles, CA. His lifelong dedication to the percussive arts has earned him a diverse portfolio and a unique artistic identity. He served as the percussionist and bodhrán soloist for the Broadway musical, “Come From Away” during its 2016 run in Washington, DC, he has been a guest artist at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival every year since 2013, and he was awarded 2nd place in the 2019 All-Ireland International Bones Competition in Abbeyfeale, Ireland. He teaches percussion at Arcadia High School and Oxford Academy, and he has been working with the non profit organization, Musical Miracles, to help provide music classes to children in need since 2017.
