Saturday, May 9th, 2020 the Fairbanks Concert Association collaborates with the internationally renowned Dr. Prof. Tomáš Kubínek and 100’s of community members and local performers to produce a spectacular showcase of remarkable talent… YOU!
Join us, as we fill Hering Auditorium with exclamations of delight, roars of laughter, and gasps of astonishment! as the Fantastic Fairbanks Flying Machine Contest takes off…
The extravaganza begins as a stupendous array of locally crafted flying machines assemble in the parking lot in front of the entrance to Lathrop High School, along with w food trucks, vendors, music and information tables as the contestants scramble to put the final touches on their works of art.
Then join us – as more delights for the eye, ear and soul parade across the stage – a celebration of our community’s talent and creativity.
We invite you to interpret flying – by creating your own flying machine. Build a contraption, a costume, write a poem, tell a story, create a dance… show us how you are creative. Gather your friends, co-workers, and family. Watch as Fairbanks Takes Off!
We further invite local performers to participate – showcasing your talents in three minutes as your community cheers.
Participants will compete for the non-profit of their choosing, the winner selected by audience cheers in this parade, talent contest, and celebration of local creativity all emceed by Dr. Professor Tomáš Kubínek. The winning organization receives a package of support, including ads in FCA programs, promotional support for an event of their own, a grant writing class just for them and more while the contestants receive season tickets to the next FCA Season!
