Fairbanks Concert Association

It’s time to begin our Community Dance Team.

The Community Dance Team is comprised of an unlimited number of performers spanning many generations of Fairbanks’ vast and diverse community. We are seeking dancers as young as 13 and as old as 80. The group will perform a progressive dance designed to be performed while walking.

No Dance Experience Necessary!

We invite you and your friends to learn a simple dance combination and participate in a flash mob later in the spring.

Courtland Weaver, Artistic Director of North Star Ballet, will teach a simple dance combination that you can do while walking.
(Our hope is that we can eventually have some individuals who can teach it to sub-groups as necessary)

Around the last week of April, we will break into small groups and flash mob around town, do a big group flash mob and then open the performance by BodyVox, our final presentation of the season, with a parade.

We are asking for $20 to participate. This will cover the cost of having t-shirts made and be deducted from the price of your ticket.

If you have friends who want to participate, bring them, or come and meet some new friends and have a great time.

We would love it if you would call the FCA office at 474-8081 and register so we can get a handle on participation – a lot of people have expressed interest this year!

If you can’t make it to the first meeting you can still join. We’ll continue through March on Sundays and then weeknights in April.

Our first meeting was held at North Star Ballet on Sunday, March 15th at 4:00 PM.

Our first meeting was fantastic!

Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 9th.

In April we will continue to meet Sundays at 4:00 and add Thursday evenings. Extra sessions will be available as needed.
