We’re hosting a season preview party at Venue, 514 2ndAvenue Wednesday, August 3rd from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Six screens playing the highlights of the upcoming 2016 – 2017 season will accompany a wine tasting and food.

“We’re excited every year to announce our upcoming season, but this year we’re particularly thrilled to be partnering with Venue and giving FCA patrons something a little different to show off the 2016 – 2017 season,” said Executive Director, Anne Biberman. “This is a great opportunity to come and ask us all about what’s coming up.”

The 2016 – 2017 season is as varied as it is spectacular. There is a mixture of perennial favorites—Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Cherish the Ladies, David Sedaris, and Robot Planet Rising: another Intergalactic Nemesis Live Action Graphic Novel—along with a diverse and powerful line-up of first time performers to Fairbanks. Portland Cello Project will perform work about Breakup—Alaska’s version of spring—while Tanya Tagaq will present an avant garde performance of the cultural and traditional art of Inuit throat singing.

“The idea behind the event, the first of several mini (small) events this year, is to give FCA supporters and new audiences a chance to more intimately learn about our performers and performances. In general, they will get a first peek at the most current FCA happenings.” This year, FCA decided these events would take the place of a large package mailer. “Join us and see,” says Biberman. “This event will be one-of-a-kind and give patrons the chance to hear about other events beyond the traditional season, upcoming projects, and get in-depth glimpses of the artists.”

This year’s ten-show season runs from September to May and offers everything from music to comedy, theater to dance, and spoken word events. The FCA season preview party will be an opportunity to get your season plans in order and enjoy great wine and food.

Season subscriptions are available on the FCA website, www.fairbanksconcert.org and individual tickets go on sale August 1, 2016. More information can be found at the website or call FCA at (907) 474-8081.
